About Us

Longleaze pre-school and nursery in Wootton Bassett provides childcare for 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We are open from 9 -3 term time.

We were rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in our last inspection.

We have a wide range of aims. These include:

  • Provide high quality care and education for our children

  • Build the self-esteem and confidence of our children

  • Provide a safe, challenging, stimulating, caring and sharing environment which is sensitive to the needs of all children and inclusive of those with special needs

  • To empower children

  • Allow for discovery and to learn from mistakes

  • Promote independence

  • Be inclusive – every child matters

  • To work in partneship with parents and carers

Bristol Standard

As a setting we have decided to use the Bristol Standard to help us develop and improve the quality and effectiveness of our work. It is a way for us to continuously improve what we do rather than being a defined way of doing things that we have to achieve.

“The Bristol Standard demonstrates our commitment to reflective practice, self-evaluation and continuous quality improvement. The philosophy of the Bristol Standard is that we can all ‘improve on our previous best”.

You can find out more about the standard on the Bristol City Council website. Or you can read more about the impact on us as a setting in the ‘Celebration booklet’ (pg. 30)

Our Staff

The overall responsibility for running the pre-school sits with the committee made up of parents and other interested people. The day to day running of the setting is done by the manager and her team of regular staff:

Management team:

Emma  (Manager, DSL), Tracey J (Deputy Manager, DDSL) Kirsty Beasant (Chair of the Committee)

Emma (Senco)

All our staff have child care qualifications and each acts as key worker for a small number of children, getting to know them especially well.
